The Eve Appeal Terms and Conditions

The Great North Run is a popular event, and each year we receive more applications than we have places available. As a charity, we pay for each place we purchase in the event. These terms are in place to ensure that everyone who joins Team Eve is committed to fundraising and making a meaningful impact. By setting clear expectations, we can make sure that every place goes to someone who is ready to take on both the challenge and the fundraising, helping us continue our vital work.


These Terms and Conditions apply to all individuals applying for a charity place in the Great North Run 2026 event with The Eve Appeal. By submitting an application, you agree to abide by the following terms:


1. Fundraising Commitment

1.1. By applying for a charity place, you commit to raising a minimum fundraising target of £400, excluding Gift Aid and the event registration fee, by Sunday 11 October 2026.

1.2. At least 50% of the fundraising target (£200) must be raised by Sunday 2 August 2026.

1.3. If you are unable to meet the fundraising deadlines, The Eve Appeal reserves the right to withdraw your place and offer it to someone else.



2. Registration and Fees

2.1. Applying for a charity place does not guarantee entry into the event. If your application is successful, you will be contacted by The Eve Appeal team with further details.

2.2. If successful, to secure your charity place, you must pay a non-refundable registration fee of £20. This fee must be paid directly to The Eve Appeal and cannot be deducted from your sponsorship total.

2.3. The registration fee is separate from the fundraising target and does not contribute to the required fundraising amount.

2.4. You must complete the event organiser’s online event console by the given deadline. Failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of your place.



3. Event Participation

3.1. Participants must be at least 18 years old on the day of the race to take part (13 September 2026).

3.2. You confirm that, to the best of your knowledge, you are in good health and accept full responsibility for your fitness and ability to participate.

3.3. The Eve Appeal is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during training or the event itself.

3.4. You must comply with all event organiser rules and regulations, including health and safety requirements.



4. Withdrawal and Cancellation

4.1. If you can no longer take part in the event, you must notify The Eve Appeal as soon as possible.

4.2. The registration fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

4.3. If you withdraw, any funds raised up to that point will be retained by The Eve Appeal as charitable donations unless a refund is requested by individual donors. Decisions on refunds are dealt with on a case-by-case basis.



5. Use of Funds Raised

5.1. All funds raised must be paid directly to The Eve Appeal via approved methods (e.g., JustGiving, Enthuse, The Eve Appeal website, direct bank transfer).

5.2. Funds raised cannot be redirected to another charity or cause.



6. Marketing and Publicity

6.1. By accepting a charity place, you consent to The Eve Appeal using your name, photographs, and fundraising story in promotional materials unless you opt out in writing.

6.2. You agree to comply with The Eve Appeal’s branding and messaging guidelines when fundraising.



7. Data Protection

7.1. The Eve Appeal will process your personal data in accordance with GDPR and our Privacy Policy.

7.2. Your details may be shared with the event organisers for registration purposes.



8. Acceptance of Terms

8.1. By applying and accepting a charity place, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

8.2. The Eve Appeal reserves the right to withdraw your place if you are found to be in breach of these Terms and Conditions or if your actions bring the charity into disrepute.
