We know that cancer prevention starts early- with educating young people about their bodies and the Know Your Body programme is here to bring cancer-prevention into school’s health education (RSHE).
The Sex Education Forum’s survey of over 1,000 young people found that:

The Know Your Body lesson plans aim to plug the gaps in RSHE: making inclusive, engaging resources for young people so they can know what’s normal for them and their bodies, spotting when things aren’t and knowing when to seek help. They were designed to be used by teachers, who are often short on time and resources, and have been developed in collaboration with RSE facilitators, teachers, medical experts and youth workers.
The Know Your Body lesson plans cover anatomy, menstrual health, HPV and FGM.
We have piloted the Know Your Body lessons, and have so far reached over 1,100 young people in areas of London and Greater Manchester.
The resources are openly available online for parents, teachers, youth workers, young people and anyone with an interest in health education, you can find them all on our dedicated site: knowyourbodylessons.org.
