All through May we were urging people to chat to their GP and not ChatGPT if they have any gynae health concerns and sharing our toolkit on how to find accurate and trusted information online.
Our testing found that ChatGPT didn’t pick up gynaecological cancers when asked about key ‘red-flag’ symptoms and often shared inaccurate and outdated information, or information not relevant to the UK health system.
With more and more people are turning to AI platforms like ChatGPT for health advice, we want to make sure everyone has the tools they need to get trustworthy, accurate information.
We surveyed over 2,000 women (YouGov, 2026) and found that nearly 1 in 10 women who had experienced gynaecological health issues had sought information and advice from AI platforms like ChatGPT.
1 in 4 them said they ‘felt reassured that they didn’t need to worry’ when asking about their gynae health symptoms, and less than a third said it left them feeling encouraged to see a doctor.
Only 16% said they didn’t fully trust the information they received on AI platforms like ChatGPT.
A huge thanks to everyone who joined us this May and Got Lippy by raising awareness of the dangers of misinformation online and sharing our toolkit so others could find trusted, accurate information. A special thank you to the leading health and beauty brands who supported us this year by donating to The Eve Appeal, including founding partners Tesco, and CEW UK.
