Take on the iconic Great North Run on 13 September 2026.

Today, 60 people in the UK will hear the devastating news they have a gynaecological cancer, and 21 people will sadly die because of the gynae cancer they were diagnosed with.

We fund research to advance the prevention and early detection of all five gynae cancers. We educate people about gynae health and we provide free, expert information and advice to anyone who has questions or concerns.

By joining Team Eve, you help make all this happen. You can play a vital role in saving and improving thousands of lives across the UK.

About the Great North Run

The Great North Run is the world’s largest half marathon, stretching from the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne to South Shields. This year, the event is bigger and better than ever as it celebrates 45 incredible years of this fun, iconic race!

Great North Run FAQ

You can find some of our most frequently asked questions below. Still have a question? Please do get in touch by emailing fundraising@eveappeal.org.uk or by calling 020 7605 0100.

What is a charity place?

A charity place is a place purchased by The Eve Appeal directly from the event organisers. These are places you can apply for and if successful must pay a non-fundable registration fee to The Eve Appeal and raise a minimum fundraising amount.

What is an own place?

An own place is anyone who has a place via the general ballot for the event.

Does applying guarantee me a charity place?

No, we have a limited number of charity places and often receive more applications than we have places. You will be contacted to let you know whether your application has been successful.

Do I need to fundraise?

Yes, we ask all individuals to raise a minimum target of £400. You will need to raise 50% of your target (£200) by Sunday 2nd August and the full amount of £400 no later than four weeks after the event (Sunday 11th October). If you have any questions or concerns about fundraising, please contact the team on fundraising@eveappeal.org.uk.
