Gynaecological cancers kill women and destroy families.
Globally there are around one million new cases per year. But what is more shocking is that nearly 500,000 die each year from one of these cancers.
In the UK over 21,000 women are diagnosed annually with a gynaecological cancer and some 7,700 die. That is 21 mums or daughters or sisters or girlfriends each day. Yet despite these grim statistics, gynaecological cancers are neither a well-profiled nor a well-funded cause.
The research we fund aims for better detection, risk prediction and prevention of all five gynaecological cancers - Womb, Ovarian, Cervical, Vulval and Vaginal.
With research teams based at leading institutions in the UK and worldwide, The Eve Appeal is at the cutting edge of research to fight women's cancers.
