Sadly the impact of the pandemic is far from over, and we have a tough year ahead.
It is vital that we keep funding research into prevention and early diagnosis, alongside our Ask Eve service and awareness-raising work, to help protect more mothers, daughters, sisters and partners.
By making a regular gift you could help to save women’s lives. Your support could help drive forward an exciting new research programme into ovarian cancer prevention.
Research at University College London will study how ‘good’ bacteria in the vagina might help to reduce the risk of developing ovarian cancer.
The research team will analyse the DNA of 80 women along with bacteria from the vagina and Fallopian Tubes. In this way they hope to identify women most at risk from ovarian cancer based on the kinds of bacteria in their reproductive system.
The team believes that this study could lead to a simple solution to reduce the risk of developing ovarian cancer – or even help prevent the disease altogether.
Whether it is £3, £10 or £25 a month, your support you could help to get this life-saving research started and reduce the number of women affected by this devastating disease.
