Here are some tips to help you

Get more time
  • Ask for a double appointment with your doctor
  • You can ask for a female doctor too
  • You can ask to bring someone with you. Like a friend, family member or carer
Bring a list of your symptoms
  • When your symptoms started
  • How your symptoms affect you
  • Keep a diary of them if you can
Know when your last period was
  • Keeping a diary of your periods can help
  • If you don’t have periods any more because of your age, let them know when your last one was
Bring a list of any medications you are on
Explain your symptoms
  • What the symptoms
  • Where your symptoms are
  • What part of the body they are in
  • When they happen
  • How bad they are
Let your doctor know you are happy to be examined
  • They will get someone else in the room too
Ask your doctor what will happen next
  • Ask when they would like you to call back if your symptoms are still there
