Information for trans, non-binary and intersex people

If you are trans, non-binary, or intersex, you may still be at risk of some gynaecological cancers if you have a womb, cervix, ovaries, fallopian tubes, vagina, or vulva.

Getting to know the key symptoms to look out for is really important in helping you look after your health and could be lifesaving.

We understand that thinking and talking about your gynae health might be difficult, and there is very little information out there which is relevant and accessible to you. That is why we have put together this information to help you access the healthcare you need. Gynaecological cancers, if caught early, are treatable, and cervical cancer is potentially preventable, so it is important to speak to your GP if you notice any worrying symptoms or changes.

If you have had any gender affirming surgeries or hormonal interventions, your risk of the five gynae cancers may change, so it’s important to know your body, what is normal for you, and what symptoms to look out for.
