There are five gynaecological cancers: womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal. Together, they affect 22,050 women and people with gynae organs each year in the UK.
This Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month we will be talking all about pain- so that you know your normal when it comes to pain and when your pain might need checking by a doctor.

The first step in knowing what is normal for you is getting familiar with your anatomy and the knowing the five gynae cancers. You may or may not have been taught about the gynaecological organs (female reproductive system) at home or at school, but it is never too late to learn about our bodies, and how we can look after our health.
We all get pain from time to time, but some types of unexplained pain can be a symptom of a gynaecological cancer, including:
- Abdominal or pelvic pain
- Lower back pain
- Periods that are more painful than is normal for you
- Pain during sex
- Vulval or vaginal pain or discomfort.
Check back in 1 September or follow us @eveappeal to find out more and share our life-saving information with your friends, family and followers. You can also support by fundraising for Eve this GCAM.
