We’ve put together a list of ways you can promote your event to friends, family, colleagues and the local community.
Contact the Media
Local press coverage is a great way to spread the word about your tea party. We’ve put together a Press Release template that you can use to contact your local newspaper or radio station.
You could use the template before your event to let people in your community know all about it and invite them along or after your event to raise awareness and encourage others to get involved too.
Such a great tool and way to invite everyone along. Use Facebook to set up a group or event for your activity or message people through Facebook and Twitter to invite them. Click here for a step-by-step guide on how to create an event through Facebook.
Send everyone an email all about your event and don’t be shy to ask your manager if you can send an email through your work’s intranet – everyone loves tea and cake at work and it is a great way to get people involved! You can do your event at work either as a tea party or bake sale, both work really well.
Set up your own group to let everyone know all about your party plans – a simple yet effective way of inviting everyone along.
We have included two sheets of 6 Invites inside your pack which are perfect for sending out to invite people along. Need some more invites? Download them here.
The A3 Double-Side Poster, included in your pack, has space for you to share details about your event. Put this up at work or in your local community centre for example. On the back of the Poster is a Certificate, so once you’ve finished your event write how much you’ve raised and take a picture – it is a great photo opportunity and don’t forget if you share it on social media to use #MakeTimeforTea.
