This September for Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month, join us for Go Red and help to prevent all five gynae cancers.
It is so easy to get involved! You can hold your Go Red at school, home, work or in your local community, simply choose and encourage everyone to wear something red on that day.
Our Eve Appeal brand is red, periods are a shade of red and people tend to Go Red when they are embarrassed about something. We want to bring gynae health to the forefront of people’s minds this September. Saying the word vagina is not brave, it is normal. Having a period is not embarrassing, it is normal. Help us to challenge the stigma, break down the taboos and educate women and men about all five gynae cancers, and their signs and symptoms, whilst also helping to raise much needed funds for our ground-breaking research and other work.
There are five types of gynaecological cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal – and every day in the UK 58 women are diagnosed with one of these cancers and 21 women will die. That’s 21 mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, partners or friends.
Here at The Eve Appeal we are determined to change these shocking statistics and by taking part in Go Red you can help us to do just that – you can help us to protect the women of the future from all five gynaecological cancers.
