Gynae conversation starters!
In the UK, 21,000 women and their family and friends are affected by a form of gynaecological cancer. This equates to 58 women being diagnosed, and sadly, 21 women die each day. That’s far too many mothers, wives, daughters and friends lost to one of the five gynaecological cancers.
Awareness that these cancers even exist is alarmingly low. So much so, we’re quite often told by women that the first time they’ve heard of a gynae cancer is when they’re sat in a white consulting room being told that they’ve got one.
This is why we’re committed to raising much-needed awareness about the little-known and little-talked about gynae cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal.
What will really make a difference to early diagnosis is women knowing the signs and symptoms. To help this happen, we need to have to change the conversation around gynae health and start to have normal conversations about periods, menopause, smear tests and parts of the anatomy. You can help #TeamEve break down the barriers, squash the stigma and smash the taboos that often stop women talking about gynae health issues by wearing one of our conversation-starter awareness badges: Bloody Brilliant / V is for… / Womb Warrior / Team Eve / Team Vagina / It’s just a vagina.*

* please note that we are only able to post these badges within the UK.
