Be Gynae Aware

Did you know that 3 in 5 women in the UK couldn't identify the vulva on a diagram? Not really sure what a vulva* is? Don’t worry, you’re in the right place.

Together with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), The Eve Appeal has launched the Be Gynae Aware campaign to empower all women and people with gynaecological organs to become more familiar with their gynae health. (This campaign was developed and sponsored by GSK).

Being aware of what’s normal for you when it comes to your gynaecological health can help you spot when something has changed and feel confident to visit your doctor to discuss it.

To help you keep track of what’s normal for your gynae health, GSK, The Eve Appeal and Dr Anita Mitra aka ‘The Gynae Geek’, have created a new Be Gynae Aware checklist. This simple list contains all the different gynae health areas to keep track of, to help you spot if something might have changed. Be sure to download it and share it with your friends on social media using #BeGynaeAware. The more open we are about gynaecological health – the better!

*The vulva is the outer part of the genitals. The vulva includes the opening of the vagina.
