A number of our supporters have expressed concern around attending the event in the light of the current outbreak, and the uncertainty surrounding this. We are very aware that many of our supporters and attendees will be at high risk, and as the safety of our supporters is of the utmost importance we take these concerns seriously and have been monitoring the situation closely.
As upsetting and disheartening postponing this event is for all involved, the wellbeing of our supporters has to remain paramount.
We would like to pass on our sincere apologies to everyone involved in the event, from the fantastic writers who have put so much work into their pieces, to the actors and comedians who have kindly offered to donate their time, to St Martin-in-the-Fields, our beautiful venue, and to each and every person who has bought a ticket and supported the event. You will all receive a full refund on any ticket costs, including booking fees.
We will be working with our celebrity readers, and letter writers, to see how best to get their stories heard and hope to be able to share information on this in the coming weeks as we get clarity on the current situation. We would like to thank them all for their incredible support they have given for what promised to be such a special evening.
We would also like to extend our thanks to our staff and volunteers who have worked so tirelessly in bringing this event together. We will be doing all we can to secure the vital income we need to fund our life-saving research and awareness work, and managing any shortfalls from cancelled events, if you would like to make a donation towards this you can do so here: eveappeal.org.uk/donate.
We truly appreciate your understanding with this most difficult decision, and your ongoing support.
