Here are 10 steps to help you plan your tea party, bake sale, coffee morning or alternative tea party – check out our ideas here
Set a date and time – Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month in March is the perfect time!
Choose a venue – host your event at home, work, school or your local community centre
Invite your guests – send out invites, put up posters, post details on social media, use WhatsApp or send an email. More information is available on how to promote your event here
Materials – decorate your event and educate your guests on the five gynae cancers with our materials. Use the Materials Order Form to order leaflets, balloons, pin badges and more – and don’t forget to check out our downloadable materials here.
Bake it or fake it – whether you can produce a show stopping cake, something a little haphazard or you pop to the shops, all cakes are welcome!
Fundraising ideas – want to add some extra sparkle to your event? Add a raffle or some games to get everyone involved. Take a look at some ideas for your home, school or work here
Raise money (and ask for Gift Aid) – suggest a donation for each cake / cup of tea for example and don’t forget to ask for Gift Aid, which boosts people’s donations by 25% at no extra cost. Just remember, Gift Aid can only be claimed on eligible individual donations and not when someone is purchasing something
Have fun and take photos – you’ve put in a lot of hard work planning your event so now it is here, it is time to have fun and enjoy it. If you manage to take photos we’d love to see them, email email@example.com
Thank everyone – show lots of love and appreciation to everyone who ate a cake, drank some tea or just donated, we are so grateful for their support
Collect and bank – ask someone to help you count up all the amazing money you’ve raised and then bank it so we can put it to good use right away, details available here
