Fundraising Ideas

We’ve put together a list of ways you can let your friends, family, colleagues and the local community know all about your event.

Just remember to be mindful when sharing information, for example, if you are holding an event at home we would recommend great a private event on Facebook to invite people.

Raffle or Lucky Dip

The perfect way to get everyone involved and encourage a few extra donations! If you are thinking of contacting local companies and would like an Authenticity Letter we ask that you please complete the Fundraising Agreement and return it either by email to or in the post to Freepost Plus RTGH-KZUU-TEXKThe Eve Appeal, 15B Berghem Mews, Blythe Road, London, W14 0HN.

Guess the Weight of the Cake
Make (or buy) a cake and ask guests for a suggested donation of £1 or £2 to take part. Write down their name and their guess; the closest guess gets a prize! It is that simple but so much fun. Download the template for this game:

Bake Off
A tea party with a twist! Challenge your friends, family or colleagues to a Bake Off competition to see whose bake comes out on top. Choose two judges and ask participants for a suggested donation of £5 or £10 each – remind them they’ll get to enjoy lots of yummy cake and tea after.

Get the judges to score the cakes based on look and taste. Then award prizes to the top scorers.

Tea Tasting
Ask your guests for a suggested donation of £3 or £4 to guess what teas they are sipping – the person with the most correct guesses wins a prize!

Tea Tray Memory
Before your party begins, set up a tray with a number of different items these could be small, large, tea-related, edible or completely random. Ask your guests for a suggested donation of £2 or £3 to take part, then bring out the tray of items and let everyone taking part look over it for a minute. Then take the tray away and ask everyone to write down all the items they remember. The person who has the most correct answers wins a prize!

Tea Tossing
Gather a selection of containers, jars and mugs (having a range of different sizes will make the game harder) and set these up at the end of a table – assign a different number to each one. Ask your guests for a suggested donation of £2 or £3 to take part, then on their go they try and toss a tea bag into the containers. Remember to record how many points participants get on their go. The player who scores the most points wins.
