Saks Hair & Beauty smash past £100,000 fundraising target!

Huge congratulations are due to Saks Hair & Beauty UK, who have broken an incredible milestone in raising a fantastic £102,251 in their ongoing support of The Eve Appeal.

Eve Appeal CEO Athena Lamnisos said “The team at Saks set themselves a goal to make a difference on women’s cancers ‎and they’ve reached an incredible milestone passing the £100k mark. Team Saks have run, climbed, baked and talked to women about the signs and symptoms of the cancers to raise awareness. A whole team of committed fire-crackers and brilliant charity partners. The biggest of thank yous, the hugest of congratulations and lots of love from the whole of Team Eve – staff, volunteers, patients and researchers.”

Since 2015, hair and beauty experts at Saks Salons from Exeter to Aberdeen have been taking part in marathons, zip wires, sky dives, tea parties, muddy runs, as well as receiving donations from their fabulous customers in order to raise this phenomenal amount.

Stephen Kee, MD of Saks Hair and Beauty UK said “We chose Eve because they’re all about women – which is at the heart of the Saks brand. Our special partnership takes our desire to look after women to another level. And Saks people have all embraced raising funds and awareness with great gusto. When a hair stylist or beauty therapist chats to a Saks customer about the importance of seeing a doctor to get checked out it makes us all incredibly proud. Our message to Eve, having achieved our original goal? #Saks4Eve business as usual. Fundraising and raising awareness continues apace.”

There’s no stopping Saks either, with a team from Saks salons  in the North West taking on a skydive in October, including Saks Cheadle High Street owner Danny Jarega, who will be confronting his fear of heights to support The Eve Appeal – a truly incredible achievement!

Speaking of athletic achievements, Janet King, Head of Marketing at Saks HQ took on the Great North run on the 10th of September, completing her race in amazing time and raising over £ £600 towards the ever-rising total, she joins the ranks of Team Saks runners, who’ve taken on Tough Mudder, Half Marathons, Marathons and more, including James Maher of Saks Kenilworth who ran the London Marathon for The Eve Appeal this year, raising a fantastic £3,298!

This weekend, a team of keen cyclists representing Saks Knutsford embarked on an incredible 250 mile cycle ride, including a climb straight through the Pennines mountain range – a 270 meter climb! We’re amazed by the dedication that everyone involved put into completing this amazing challenge!

September is Gynae Cancer Awareness Month, and Saks Salons have celebrated in past years with Saks4Eve Sunday, with salons across the country opening their doors and offering hair and beauty treats for donations. We’re always so impressed with the efforts every salon take in promoting the partnership and fundraising

An enormous thank you to everyone at Saks for getting involved, and for amazing continued support of The Eve Appeal. The enthusiasm which you’ve shown, is incredible and we wouldn’t be able to fund ground-breaking gynaecological cancer research projects without support like yours. If you’re one of our fundraisers you should be incredibly proud of all you’ve achieved. We know we’re proud of you!

There is still plenty of fundraising planned from Team #SAKS4EVE, so why not head to www.saks.co.uk and find out what your local salon has planned!
