The Cocktail Hour blogger tour returns, and sees 20 designs chosen from McCall’s Vogue Patterns range for a new social sew-along; encouraging all those sewing enthusiasts-cum-bloggers (and we know you’re all out there!) to start creating their masterpieces; all in the name of charity! We’re very fortunate that through our partnership, McCall will be making a donation for every pattern sold to help protect women of today, and women of the future against gynaecological cancers.
Fresh off the machine…
Jen Sanders, whose blog Gingerella takes us through all her sewing and dressmaking adventures, has recently blogged about her experience of taking part in McCall Pattern’s campaign #sipandsew in aid of The Eve Appeal.
Jen wasn’t too sure what pattern to opt for before settling on Vogue 1537 – simply because there was so much choice, she claims she was ‘spoilt…but I’d opted for something that would be simple, but could carry a statement fabric’.
One thing that was for certain, as Jen suggests, is that a silhouette dress shape wasn’t one that she’d typically go for, preferring for a dress which highlights her waist’/
However, she freely admits that until she’d sewn the last few stitches that she wasn’t sure she liked her creation – but once she’d slipped on the finished version ‘adoration ensued’.
#TeamEve are certainly pleased that Jen likes her creation, so a huge THANK YOU Jen for supporting The Eve Appeal by taking part in the #SipandSew campaign.
